Ownership, Cancellation & Refunds
Last updated
This page explains, in plain terms, what happens to your pages, data and billing when you cancel, when a payment fails, or when your trial ends. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
1. You own your pages
Your pages, copy (including copy the AI writes for you), images you upload, offers and leads are your content. We do not claim ownership of them. We use them only to provide the Service, as described in our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
2. Canceling your subscription
- You can cancel at any time from your billing settings.
- Your subscription stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for. You keep full access until then, and you will not be charged again.
3. Live pages after a free trial or subscription ends
When a free trial ends without a paid plan, your published pages keep serving visitors for 3 days, then they are unpublished. Your drafts are kept, and choosing a plan lets you bring your pages back online.
When your subscription ends:
- your published pages keep serving visitors for 7 days, so live campaigns are not cut off without warning;
- after that, your pages are unpublished and visitors can no longer see them;
- your drafts, pages and version history are kept (see section 7), and AI generation and publishing pause;
- if you choose a plan again, you can bring your pages back online.
4. Failed payments
If a payment fails:
- Stripe retries the payment automatically, and we email you so you can update your payment method;
- your pages stay live, and the Service keeps working, during a 14 days grace period;
- if the payment is still outstanding after the grace period, your pages are unpublished and AI generation and publishing pause until the payment is fixed.
Updating your payment method in your billing settings usually resolves this. Contact support@hooklander.com if you need help.
5. Visit allowances
Live pages are never switched off for exceeding visits. We will email you, and if you stay over the allowance we will ask you to move to a plan that fits.
Other allowances, such as AI page builds and published pages, work as described in our Terms of Service. When you reach one, the related feature pauses; nothing you have already published is taken down.
6. Exporting your pages and leads
- You can export any page as a ZIP file of static HTML and assets at any time while your account exists, including after you cancel.
- Some features rely on our service and don’t fully work in an exported copy: visit and click statistics, sales attribution from postbacks, and split tests. Lead forms in an exported page only keep working while your account is active and the page is still published with us. See Exporting pages for details.
- You can export leads as a CSV file from your workspace.
We recommend exporting anything you want to keep before deleting your account or before the retention period below ends.
7. Data retention after cancellation
After a subscription ends, we keep your workspace content, including pages, drafts, uploads and leads, for 90 days. This gives you time to come back or export what you need. After that, we may delete it.
You can ask us to delete your data sooner at any time by emailing support@hooklander.com. Billing records are kept for as long as tax and accounting laws require, and deleted data may remain in backups for a limited period until they are overwritten. More detail is in our Privacy Policy.
8. Refunds
Monthly plans are not prorated or refunded for partial months, except where required by law. This includes canceling partway through a billing period.
If you believe you were charged in error, for example charged twice or charged after canceling, contact support@hooklander.com with the details. We will review it and refund any amount charged in error.
9. Free trial
- The free trial lasts 7 days and does not require a payment card.
- We email you before the trial ends.
- At the end of the trial, AI generation and publishing pause until you choose a plan. Your drafts are kept.
- We never charge you automatically at the end of a trial.
10. Deleting your account
You can request account deletion from your account settings or by emailing support@hooklander.com. We may ask you to confirm your request before we act on it. When we delete your account:
- workspaces you own, including their pages, uploads, analytics and leads, are deleted, and any published pages go offline;
- any active subscription on those workspaces is canceled;
- members of those workspaces lose access to them.
Deletion cannot be undone, so export anything you want to keep first. Billing records and backups are handled as described in section 7.
11. Suspension
If we suspend or terminate an account for breaking our Acceptable Use Policy or Terms of Service, pages may be taken offline immediately, and the retention and export terms above may be limited where needed to prevent harm or comply with the law.
