Publishing
Publishing & private previews
Put a page live, update it safely, roll back to an earlier live version, and share private preview links for approval.
Publishing takes a snapshot of your draft and puts it live. After that, the live page and your draft are separate: you can keep editing without visitors seeing half-finished changes.
Before you publish
- Confirm your email address — publishing is disabled until you do.
- Fill in every
[ADD: …]placeholder and check every claim. - Click each button in the preview and check the destination.
- Open the page settings and check the page title, description and social image — these appear in search results and when the link is shared. Turn on noindex if the page shouldn’t appear in search engines (common for paid-traffic pages).
Publishing
Click Publish. The page goes live at its address:
- Included address:
your-workspace.hooksites.com/your-page. You can change the last part (the slug) in the page settings. - Your own domain: choose a connected, active domain in the page settings. See Connecting a custom domain.
Each published page counts towards your plan’s published page allowance. If you’re at the limit, unpublish another page or upgrade; drafts are never affected. Pages published during the trial show a small “Made with Hooklander” badge.
Updating a live page
Keep editing the draft as usual. The page overview shows when there are unpublished changes. Publish again to update the live page in one step. Visitors never see a partly saved draft.
Rolling back
Every publish is kept. If an update causes a problem, open the page’s publishing history and restore the previous live version. It goes live straight away, and your current draft is left alone.
Unpublishing
Unpublish to take a page offline. The draft, its versions and its statistics are kept, and you can publish again later. Unpublishing frees up a published page in your allowance.
Private preview links
Need sign-off from a client, a network or a compliance reviewer? Create a private preview link from the editor. It shows the current draft exactly as it will look, and:
- it isn’t indexed by search engines,
- visits and clicks on it aren’t counted in your statistics,
- your tracking code (pixels) doesn’t run on it,
- it expires after a while — create a new one if it has.
Anyone with the link can see the draft, so share it only with people who need it.
Where statistics start
Visits, clicks, leads and sales are counted only on the published page. Editor and preview activity is excluded, so testing your own page doesn’t distort the numbers. To record sales, set up a postback.
